Absence Makes The Heart Grow Fonder...Or Some Shit
I’m kind of at this point where my main theories are Chucky either wants:
A) A legacy, like everyone else has theorized. Someone to fine-tune and give that last extra “push” into a killer, and carry out his legacy. It seems really complicated but Chucky is a simplistically complicated kind of killer.
B) Different fractures of Chucky’s soul seem to have different facets of his personality. In Cult, this was most obvious when Mama’s Boy Chucky, Nica’s Chucky, and Andy’s Chucky were all together. Chucky’s vanity is a pretty big part of his personality but it screamed out in Andy’s doll more so than Mama’s Boy Chucky, who was also a little trashed.
It’s even more obvious with this current Chucky and Nica’s Chucky; the core of Charles Lee Ray is the same across whatever person or object he’s inhabiting, but this Chucky seems more image-obsessed and needs to be loved. He also seems gentler…like with Lexys sister, especially with his manipulations. More accepting. (Seed of Chucky)
And Nica’s Chucky has grown a…well, no, no, Chucky is a lil queer motherfucker now. Definitely a far change from other variations of his soul. (Seed of Chucky)
My theory is the more he seperates his soul, the more those versions begin to personalize on their own with a different set of goals compared to the main one.
C) Maybe the reason he’s so obsessed with creating a killer like him is, after a certain age their soul needs to be corrupted for him to stay in control? He was literally obsessed with making Nica a killer before he possessed her, and unlike with Alice, he can’t seem to stay in control with Nica.
It could be once they’re not children anymore, he can’t just possess a “good” person, or non-killer. It might explain why he’s so determined to carve out a killer among one of the teens.
